Please read on for a detailed explanation of my review. The product is expensive for its limitations and short-fallings. Don’t expect miracles and don’t expect rapid results. Topaz Labs Video Enhance AI upscales and enhances reasonably well, depending on the source. If you want the general basis of this review, then here it is. This latter point will come up again later in this review. It also cleans up a bit of the noise sometimes introduced with upscaling.

Topaz Labs Video Enhance AI will convert your video file to a higher resolution file and allow use on computers and televisions which may not feature upscaling technology. Those products do the upscaling live on the fly. High resolution televisions and video players have been doing it for several years.

This review is based on my personal experience with Topaz Video Enhance AI, and the newly released version 2. I manually focus on the film grain with the macro lens and then I use a cable release (to avoid camera shake) to take an exposure (I’m lucky Fujifilm cameras still have cable release sockets built-in).In 2020, Topaz Labs introduced their new product ‘Video Enhance AI’ for the purpose of upscaling and enhancing videos. Next, I set up my Fujifilm X-T3 with an 80mm macro lens directly above the film and light table with a tripod. To do this, I bought a cheap light table off of Amazon, paired with a Lomography 120 film holder to keep my film flat. Because of this, I use a method called DSLR scanning. 120 filmġ20 film doesn’t work with my Pacific Image scanner, and I still don’t like the quality of my Epson V600. If I need to do more to the photo, I can export the image, and then take it into Adobe Photoshop. From there, the plugin gives you a huge amount of control over while balance and individualized color balance, and I can honestly do most of my edits within Negative Lab Pro itself. The plugin allows you to emulate different kinds of traditional lab scanners, from Fuji to Noritsu, which each achieve different looks. From there, Negative Lab Pro can work its magic. Once I have my scans, I import them into Adobe Lightroom Classic.
